Pretzel Kids Yoga Teacher Feature: Meet Ali!

primary school yoga lesson plans

Meet Ali Litt, our March 2019 featured Pretzel Kids yoga teacher!

Ali began her fitness career as a cycle instructor back in 2004 to let off some steam while working as an Assistant Attorney General in the trial department for the Commonwealth of Ma. in Boston. A huge fitness/wellness advocate who loves to also help others, Ali became certified in barre, tone, water rowing and yoga. After all the cardio with not much clarity and serenity in her life, she began immersing herself completely into a daily practice of yoga.

With three kiddos ages 11, 9 and 4, Ali heard about Pretzel Kids through mutual friends and immediately jumped on the bandwagon to complete the Pretzel Kids certification course. Ali is actively teaching yoga classes for preschool children and she cannot wait to expand her business to elementary school kids as well.

When she isn’t teaching or taking fitness/yoga classes, Ali enjoys spending quality time with her kids, and writing and speaking on behalf of her self-growth motivational speaking business. She also enjoys attending lectures, volunteering for pro bono legal cases, spending time with friends and family, and curling up with a nice hot cup of tea and a spiritual/law of attraction book. Ali believes we can shift any circumstance in our life in an instant if we decide to let it go and create a better way of living.

We recently had the pleasure of talking to Ali about her journey with Pretzel Kids yoga. Here’s what she had to say:

Pretzel Kids: What is your background and how long have you been teaching and/or practicing yoga?

Ali: I’m a mom to three amazing kids. I recently decided to put everything on the back-burner to fulfill my calling as an entrepreneur. I’m now building a personal development and motivational speaking/writing business.

I have been practicing yoga for about nine years yet became immersed in it about three years ago. I became certified as a 200-RYT in March 2017. I love to teach and currently teach adult yoga, cycling, and now a licensed Pretzel Kids yoga teacher.

Pretzel Kids: A little birdie told us that you have many other skills. Can you elaborate?

Ali: Thank you. In addition to life as a mom, student and teacher, I am an attorney and licensed real estate broker. I also love writing and reading about personal development, self growth and spirituality. Oh, I also LOVE creating patterns in my posts on Instagram. It’s sooo fun!

Pretzel Kids: Tell us one fun fact about you (can be anything!)

Ali: LOL! I love that I can do a wheel from Tadasana/Mountain pose and kick over. Huge accomplishment as an adult!

Pretzel Kids: Do you have ANY spare time? If so, what do you like to do?

Ali: When I have any spare time, you may find me lost in a book store searching for the PERFECT planner/journal to keep track of my busy life and mind. Just ask my kids and they will give you a big EYE ROLL!

Pretzel Kids: What drew you to the Pretzel Kids yoga online certification course (Ali also took our weekend course!)?

Ali: I was guided to it so much so that I cannot even remember.

Pretzel Kids: What is your favorite things about the course?

Ali: SOOO much! 1)The simplicity. 2) The 8-part bell curve is something you can easily create over and over. 3) The kids love it. 4) Robyn is always accessible. So thrilled I found her!

Pretzel Kids: Do you feel prepared to teach children’s yoga?

Ali: I teach both kids and adults. But, I never ever would’ve felt prepared to teach kids if Pretzel Kids wasn’t in my life.

Pretzel Kids: Where do you live and where would you like to teach Pretzel Kids yoga?

Ali: I live in Sudbury, MA.  I would love to create my own kids yoga class at the building I live at. Once I find a time that works for kids in my area, I plan to learn how to promote it to the larger community.

Pretzel Kids: What gave you the initial idea to become a kids yoga teacher?

Ali: The inspiration to teach kids yoga honestly came to me in a dream!

Pretzel Kids: How did you hear about Pretzel Kids? Would you recommend the course to friends, moms, childcare providers and yoga teachers? Why?

Ali: I was guided to it (seriously!). And 100% I would recommend Pretzel Kids. Robyn is so accessible and helpful, and the class format is simple. It works great.

Pretzel Kids: How do you hope to make a positive impact with the Pretzel Kids curriculum?

Ali: I want kids to find stillness, serenity and peace in life. It’s as important for kids as adults. Kids of all ages have so much emotion bottled up deep inside. They need a place where they can be free to be who they are.

Pretzel Kids: What do you think of creating Pretzel Kids lesson plans? Does this help you?

Ali: It’s soooo much easier when you create the plans. I like to also teach according to the kids’ likes/dislikes so I switch it up a bit during class, yet the Pretzel Kids system makes it SOO simple. The kids definitely enjoy the structure.

Pretzel Kids: What’s your favorite Pretzel Kids game? What’s your favorite Pretzel Kids theme?

Ali: The kids LOVE lift it/drop it/roll it and Salty Says. The kids always ask for fairy/mermaid theme and yesterday they begged for LOL theme (not sure about that one!)

Pretzel Kids: What’s your favorite food (just for fun!)

Ali: Gouda cheese and any gummy candy, even though I shouldn’t eat either one of them because it kills my stomach.

Thank you Ali and we wish you continued success! Do you want to be featured in an upcoming Pretzel Kids newsletter or blog post? Let us know by emailing us at info@pretzelkids.com!
